As we enter 2024, we take a quick look back at 2023.

2023 comes to end with the year having been very successful for the youth set up.

Having been promoted as league winners at the end of the 2022/23 season the side have carried on from where they left off.

9 games (6 league & 3 cup) have currently been played in the 2023/24 season and we find ourselves sat in the middle of the pack in the Ambassador Evesham Pool A division. We currently hold an impressive record of 5 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses from our 9 games played to date.

After narrowly losing on penalties to Alcester Juniors in the AEFL Cup last season, we are looking to go one better this season and currently find ourselves in the quarter finals where we will host Drakes Broughton Rangers.

Having entered the Worcestershire County Cup for the first time, we unfortunately exited in the first round to a very good Kidderminster Harriers side, however the experience for the players will be crucial in their development.

Ollie Luker currently tops the charts with 8 goals this season, with last seasons top scorer, Ewan Burton, bagging 7 to date taking his tally for the club to 31 goals since joining.

12 out of the 17 players have played a part in every game so far this season. This is on course to beat that of last season where we saw 6 players (Toby, Ally, Carter, Fin, Elliot F & Will) feature in all 19 games.

For the 2023/24 season, Leo Farnsworth joined the club and has hit the ground running since his arrival. It also saw Arnie Bills step up to score his first goal for the club from the penalty spot against Crowle Searches in the AEFL Cup.

2023 also saw current first team player Owen Lane join the U14s set up in a coaching capacity.

As we move into 2024, we anticipate the return of George Townsend from injury. George has been a big miss on the pitch this season however has still shown his commitment with being ever present on the touchline to support the side home and away!

As coach, I look forward to continuing to support and help with the development and growth of these players who are a big asset to this football club. They are a hardworking bunch of players who always strive to be the best versions of themselves. I cannot ask for anymore from the way they apply themselves to training and matches.

A massive THANK YOU from me to all the parents for the support they have given. It couldn't be possible without you.

Hopefully we can make 2024 as successful as the last one!

Ash
