The side started in the Cheltenham League as the Malvern Vale Reserves in the 15/16 season, finishing 9th in Division 5. Finishing 10th the following season, the side was moved into Division 4 for the 17/18 season due to the reduction of leagues, but now in the same league as the First Team, they were renamed the Academy. After a successful season narrowly missing out on the title, after a 19 game unbeaten run to finish the season, they were promoted to Division 3 as the Cheltenham League Division 4 Playoff Winners 2017/18, after a penalty shootout victory against Welland Reserves, Anthony Cakebread's late equaliser having taken the game to penalties.
After winning division 3 in 18/19, scoring 148 goals in 35 games in the process, Matt Strangwood scoring 34 and Miguel Passaro 30, the team jumped up to Division 1 where they sat in 2nd when the season was brought to a premature end due to COVID-19.
Following the clubs move in 2020 they became known as New Dales Vale and competed in Division 1 North following a restructure of the Cheltenham league for 20/21. The 20/21 season was brought to an end with Vale sat clear at the top of the table, however, the Cheltenham Junior Cup was run instead of completing the league season, with Vale beating Whaddon United 6-0 in the Final at Bishops Cleeve.
For the 21/22 Season the team moved to the Uhlsport Hellenic Division 2 West and came Runners Up in the first season.
